I have the privilege of contributing to a remarkable roots French Jazz festival, creating and adapting its distinct brand identity from line up to line up. This identity played a pivotal role in transforming the festival into a must-visit event, hinted by the logo's navigation element.

Brand Identity

Jazz'n Bruche uniquely blends the accessibility of backstage moments with the allure of a must-visit event. This balance of exclusivity and intimacy is captured in the logo's design, which combines a roots, rugged and expressive font choice and geographical elements to evoke the festival's vibrant and authentic spirit.

Inspired by the Bruche Valley and the rhythmic flow of its river, the brand's narrative echoes the essence of jazz itself. This cohesive visual identity creates a profound sense of place and connection, establishing the festival as a beacon of authentic musical experiences within the remote but equally scenic backdrop of the valley.

The HIPPO

Under the mentorship of renowned creative director J. Marc Nigon, I collaborated on embracing the unexpected yet deeply symbolic figure of a hippo. This choice reflects a bold step away from convention, aiming to capture the festival's unique essence—a fusion of strength, community, and exoticism, contrasting with the french fauna while maintaining a connection with nature. This mascot embodies Jazz'n Bruche's festival's core values: to stand out, call for uniqueness and harmonise with the rhythm of nature.

360° campaign

Since it's inception in 2018 I have been regularly participating in the communication of the festival's activities leading up to me taking care of all graphical elements from the print to the digital.

Creating a 360 campaign for a music festival has been an enlightening journey in creativity and strategic thinking. As a designer, this process has offered invaluable insights into the fusion of branding, user experience, and multi-channel storytelling whilst looking for a new perspective to excite the visitor.

Takeaways

In developing the music festival's communication, the essence of my approach was a blend of inspiration and humility. Recognizing the importance of being inspired, yet allowing my client's vision to shine, was pivotal. It demanded setting aside personal ego to truly embrace and elevate the client's ideas.

This process underscored the delicate balance between bringing creative energy and respecting the client's voice, ensuring the final campaign resonated authentically with the festival's identity and audience aspirations.
